N.C. Bar Center staff gathers around tree from the Cartner Christmas Tree Farm for annual "family photo."

Founder and owner, Sam Cartner will turn 91 years old on Friday, October 7, 2011. Happy Birthday Sam!

Our thoughts are continually with those in Texas, Oklahoma, and other areas that are so hot and dry right now. I just returned from a trip to Texas were I saw firsthand how bad it really is. While on the other hand, the northeast has recently endured two back to back tropical events that have inundated them with torrential rains that have created terrible flooding.

I received an order yesterday from a studio in Miami, FL yesterday doing a photo shoot for Gymboree. They orderd two 4' trees, a 6' tree and lots of greenery. We usually receive orders for larger trees being used in photo shoots. But I could just see those cute little kids standing in front of those little trees in the season's best.

On your way to our farm, you pass a lot of other Christmas tree farms. Just a few days ago as I pulled into our farm, I noticed how the dew on the trees glittered in the morning sunlight. The sunlight accented the natural growth and reminded me of how different our trees look from all the neighbors.

We received an order again from LL Bean again this year for their numerous photo shoots accross the country. We shipped trees to Sun Valley, ID, Breckenridge, CO and of course, Freeport, ME. It has been a pleasure to work with them again. This is one of the pictures they sent me after the shoot.

We have differentiated ourselves from the competition by leaving long sturdy branches giving a tree more demension and depth after decorating.
